According to ancestry.com, the Redlich surname is "German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): nickname for a responsible or honest person, from Middle High German redelich ‘upright’, ‘honest’ (an adjective derived from Old High German reda ‘justification’, ‘account’), modern German redlich. As a Jewish surname it is mainly ornamental."

I am proud to be serving as one of the co-directors of the Garden State Java User Group (GSJUG), in continuous operation since February 2001. After 19½ years operating as the ACGNJ Java Users Group, Barry Burd, Chandra Guntur, Paul Syers and I created our own 501(c)(3) non-profit and rebranded as GSJUG as of October 1, 2020.

I have three blogs that are are in various stages of activity. I will do my best to keep them current.

I was once an avid runner having completed numerous marathons and half-marathons since 2010. However, nerve issues on metatarsal area of my feet forced me to end my days of running.

I am a former member of the Base Camp Athletic Club (BC*AC) and the Hill Runners of Hunterdon (HRH), running clubs based in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

On October 4, 2015, I successfully completed my first ultramarathon, the Blues Cruise 50K. It was an amazing adventure and I highly recommend this ultramarathon especially if it will be your first! Here are two race reports from the 2015 event:
